JEFFREY HENNIG
In his pursuit of truth and beauty, Jeffrey Hennig founded Environmental Artists in 1986, as a pioneering design / build boutique dedicated to Enhancing Life Through The Appreciation Of Beauty. His passion and vision has led the firm to successfully design, assemble and produce over 500 private residential landscape gardens in the past quarter century. The depth and breadth of this vision has manifested award winning and nationally published works showcasing true capabilities to design and build at world class standards. The firms most important work to date has been a multi-million dollar garden The Sanctuary 1997-2000. Dr. Robert Shutzki, whom Hennig studied under at Michigan State University, stated "Jeff is one of those people that comes along maybe once in your career as a teacher. He has an uncanny ability to translate the principles of design into completely original ideas. He's definitely ahead of his time."
KEITH SCHMALTZ
An artist, builder, designer, director, engineer and magician, Keith Schmaltz was recruited by Hennig and joined Environmental Artists in 1987, as he was recognized for his remarkable resourcefulness, vision and ability to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Keith's success, despite his low profile and affable personality is attributed to his relentless work ethic and tenacious desire to pull these projects off; under any and all circumstances. Keith attended Michigan State University, where he received his degree in landscape architecture and has compiled over 40,000 hours towards his craft of making landmark works with EA.
JOHN ROGERS
A consummate artisan, scientist and genius. John Rogers was recruited by Hennig and joined Environmental Artists in 1989, as he was recognized for his brilliant mind, his exceptional craftsmanship and ability to interpret the philosophical nuances intended in EA design. Rogers is highly respected in the field and is considered a true master by his colleagues. Rogers attended Michigan State University, where he received his degree in landscape horticulture and has compiled over 40,000 hours towards his craft of making landmark works with EA.

Because of this level of focus required, we choose to accept no more than three new commissions each year. These commissions commence during the in the initial stages of the architects program where we have the most substantial impact and value to the overall aesthetic and gestalt of place.
